Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: My coupon code says "Invalid" or "Expired" at the POS. Why?

A: There are a few common reasons:

  1. Validity: The coupon's validity period has passed, or it hasn't started yet.
  2. Redemption Limit: The code was a single-use code and has already been redeemed.
  3. Minimums: The customer's cart hasn't met the "Minimum Receipt Amount."
  4. Wrong Customer: The code was assigned to a specific customer (via upload or Quick Coupon) and a different customer is trying to use it.
  5. Typo: The code was entered incorrectly (e.g., O instead of 0, I instead of 1).

Q: Can a customer stack discounts? (e.g., use a 10% off coupon during a 20% off store-wide promotion)?

A: This depends on your setup. By default, most systems prevent "stacking." However, if you want to allow a Coupon to be used on an item that is already part of a Promotion (e.g., a sale item), you must check the "Redemption on a promo item" box when creating the coupon.

Q: Why didn't my Promotion apply automatically at checkout?

A: Check the Schedule (is it active right now?) and the Discount Criteria. Promotions are rule-based. If your rule is "Buy 2 T-Shirts," and the customer only has 1 T-Shirt and 1 pair of jeans, the promotion will not trigger. Ensure your POS operators and customers are clear on the exact conditions.

Q: What's the difference between "Fixed" and "Dynamic" validity for coupons?

A:

  • Fixed: This is for standard sales. Example: "Valid from Nov 1 to Nov 15." Every code has these exact dates, no matter when the customer receives it.
  • Dynamic: This is for automated campaigns. Example: "Valid for 30 days." The 30-day "clock" starts at the moment the coupon is issued to that specific customer. This is perfect for birthday or welcome campaigns.

Q: I uploaded 1,000 codes using the "Upload Codes" feature, but my report says "No. of Codes: 0." What happened?

A: The upload file likely had an error. The most common error is an incorrect column header. Go back to the "Upload Codes" screen and double-check the required format. Your Excel/CSV file must have the exact column header (e.g., Coupon Code). Re-format your file and try the upload again.
