Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: Why is my segment showing 0 contacts after I added rules?
A: The criteria you have set may be too specific, resulting in no customers matching all the rules simultaneously. Try removing rules one by one and refreshing the count to see which one is too restrictive. It's also possible that data is still syncing if the customer activity is very recent.
Q: What is the difference between a Simple and a Super Segment?
A: A Simple Segment is built using rules based on raw customer data (like purchases and profile info). A Super Segment is an advanced feature that allows you to combine existing Simple Segments using AND/OR logic.
Q: How often do the contacts in my segment update?
A: Segments are dynamic. The system automatically updates them as new customer data and activity occur, ensuring your audience is always current based on the rules you have set.
Q: How are multiple rules combined? Is it AND or OR logic?
A: When you add multiple rules within a Simple Segment, they are combined using AND logic. This means a customer must meet all the specified conditions to be included, making the audience more specific with each rule you add.
Q: What is the difference between the "Is" and "Contains" operators for text rules?
A: The "Is" operator requires an exact match of the entire text. The "Contains" operator is more flexible and will match if the text appears anywhere within the field. For example, a rule Department Contains “Women” would include customers who purchased from "Women Traditional Wear," "Women Western Wear," and "Women Cosmetics."
Q: How does the "Within last X days" date operator work?
A: This operator creates a sliding window that includes the current day. The system treats today as "Day 0." Therefore, a rule for "within last 5 days" on July 6th would include all activity from July 1st through July 6th, inclusive.
