Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Why is my Affinity Map all red or showing weak affinity for all products?

A: This can happen for a few reasons:

  • Date Range: Your selected time period may be too short to find meaningful patterns. Try expanding it to 6 or 12 months.
  • Category Level: You might be analyzing at too high a level (e.g., "Apparel"). Try filtering for a more specific level (e.g., "Men's Shirts").
  • Excluded Categories: You may have forgotten to exclude a common item (like "Gift Card") that is washing out other, more meaningful combos.

Q: What does 'Drop-Off' in the Product Journey mean?

A: "Drop-Off" represents the percentage of customers who made an initial purchase (the categories on the left) but did not make a subsequent purchase from any category (within the selected timeframe). A high drop-off rate is a major opportunity for a retention campaign.

Q: Why is 'Previous Year Sales' zero for a category in the Growth tab?

A: This simply means the category is new. It had no sales data in the comparable period last year, so its growth is effectively 100% or more. This is common for new product lines you've launched.
